The existing bathroom had been converted to a wet room to accommodate the resident, However, this had not been successfully undertaken, with the cross falls to the flooring laid incorrectly which when the shower was on caused the water to cascaded through the doorway onto the landing area and through the ceiling affecting the rooms below, making this totally unusable.
The entire wet room was removed, dividing wall demolished and a temporary shower cubicle installed to the rear bedroom whilst works were underway to the bathroom. The resident had always preferred using a bath, but had not been able to due to her age, so a shower was initially installed. We recognised the importance of the resident’s well being and wishes to use a bath again, so we came up with a solution that would give her both options. A walk in bath where she could use the bath whilst seated and also have the benefit of a shower all within the comfort of a seated position.
